Frequently Asked Questions

What’s a Personal Life Coach?

A Personal Life Coach can guide you from where you are now in your life to where you want to be. Life Coaching is a new wave of self improvement and partnering with a life coach can help you see things differently, achieve things you never thought possible and make long lasting changes in your life.

A life coach can take you from where you are in your life to where you want to be, whether it be in relationships, achieving goals both physical and mental, getting ‘unstuck’ or gaining insight with a very proactive approach.

We all have a belief system in place that may or may not be serving us. We have learned things growing up, in school and affirm things in our minds constantly without even realizing it. I break down those beliefs and what is going on in your mind to show you what is causing the blockages and show you exactly how to turn them around!

What is the difference between Life Coaching and Traditional Therapy?

Traditional therapy will usually have you exploring your past (childhood and upbringing) and unresolved issues from your past that may be contributing to your current situation. This can take a lot of time. Psychologists and Psychiatrists also deal with medical issues and may or may not prescribe medicine.

Life Coaches will take you from your current situation to where you would like to be by exploring the beliefs systems you have in place that may be holding you back. Life Coaching is for highly functioning everyday individuals and issues. You will have someone to confide in with a fresh perspective and unbiased opinion with a clear plan to get you where you want to be while holding you accountable for your action steps.

Why would I want a Life Coach?

You want a life coach to get rid of any blocks that may be holding you back from living your best life, having your best relationships, and being as successful as you can be. If you are feeling stuck or in an uncomfortable situation, or just not where you want to be, your life coach will help you see the light and give you guided action steps. A life coach is also someone you can confide in, a positive outlet for your stresses and burdens, an unbiased opinion and someone to hold you accountable to reaching your goals.

I am personally committed to guiding you in achieving your own personal success.

What do I talk about with my Life Coach?

You talk about anything and everything with your life coach. What is bothering you? What is uncomfortable? What would you change about your life if you could? What do you want to achieve? How are others affecting what you do? What do you REALLY want to do and what do you REALLY want out of your life?

When you give me this information, I am able to see behind the words and what is really being said. I can make you aware of things you may not be able to see yourself and give you guided steps to changing those things.

ALL sessions are completely private and confidential!

Does one need a license to practice Life Coaching?

There is no formal licensing for life coaching. Most coaches study coaching, belief systems, how minds work and may or may not be certified by a private coaching school.

What are my Life Coach’s credentials?

I personally have studied social work and psychology from early on in life as well as practiced many techniques I give my clients on myself. My client’s life changes and happiness speak for themselves. I have proven results and within a short period of time.  This is something I have been gifted with and have studied the coaching process intensely to polish up my skills. I have an intuitive nature and am very good at seeing what is really going on. You can see my full credentials here.

How are sessions conducted?

Sessions take place via phone or in person.

During sessions, you will talk about what is on your mind. I will ask you questions to better understand you and point out things for you to better understand you. At the end of each session, you will have tasks to complete, exercises to do or things to practice prior to the next session to keep you taking action.

How many sessions does one need and how often?

I like to see my clients on a weekly basis to allow enough time in between sessions to complete the tasks / exercises / action steps or practices.  I recommend about 6 sessions initially and you will see progress after each session. I also have maintenance session available for further coaching. Individuals all have different needs and will be assessed during the complimentary consultation if a customized programme is needed. I am also available in between sessions for quick emails or phone calls if anything should come up or need extra clarification.
